“Don’t worry, human. I chased away all the other cats from the garden, so it’s safe for you to go in the garden with the stupid dogs that don’t know how to use a litter box. But now let me take my much deserved nap, you can thank me for my heroic deeds later!”
This week Jackie made it very clear that there is no thing like a “dog blanket” in our house.
She didn’t even back down when our dog Sam, who is five times her weight, wanted to claim the blanket. This little four kilo cat definitely rules the household 🙂
“Thanks for interrupting my well-deserved nap in the sun, human. I will NOT be careful when I hop onto your bed tonight!”
The weather changed from sunny to rainy yesterday, but we had wonderful clear and warm weather before, so Jackie enjoyed much cat-time in the garden. She doesn’t care if I just walk by, but she definitely doesn’t like if I take a photo!
The last days have been almost spring-like, so Jackie was outside a lot.
What always makes me laugh is that she doesn’t even come in for food. She will wait at the door, and when I open it she won’t come in – instead she will sit next to her plate until I feed her.
Well, who am I to argue with a cat 😉 I am glad she is happy, because she can stay in the garden again, so if she wants to have her food served on the terrace, this is what we will do. We are well-trained!
“Well, human, this armchair is obviously taken, and I am not in the mood to share it with you. Why don’t you sit on the couch and wrestle for a free spot with those stupid doggies!”
Of course Jackie decides when she wants to cuddle and when she needs some space. We learned early on that we are better off if we respect her choices… Her claws are sharp!
The last days have been warmer, so Jackie can spend more time outside. She is very happy about this!
To be honest, I am glad it is not warm enough yet that she wants to be in the garden all day. When the weather is bad or cold, Jackie and I have a extra snuggling session in the morning, and I like it so much.
My husband gets up quite early, but before he leaves for work, he feeds Jackie and the dogs. If Jackie wants to go out then, he lets her in the garden. If she doesn’t feel like it, she comes back to bed after this. She then is full and in a very good mood, so she purrs a lot and wants to be near me. Sometimes I wake up when she jumps onto the bed, sometimes I don’t, but we both enjoy the warmth and the quiet atmosphere for a little bit longer. I can’t think of a better way to start the day!
Winter still has a firm grip on us. We got about 15 cm of snow this week, and Jackie doesn’t like it at all. She still insists on having a few minutes outside, though! Most of the day she spends under our bed, where we made her a cozy spot. When I am finished with the chores and anything is calm, she comes to the living room and lies down on the couch next to me. I enjoy this very much, because I know when spring comes, there will be less snuggling.
