It’s time for Feline Friday, hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus!

When Jackie decides it’s snuggle time, than it’s snuggle time! It doesn’t matter if I want to blog, like in the picture above.

Mostly she absolutely has wrapped us around her sweet little paw. I think this is difficult to understand for someone who lives without furbabies. But in our household our furbabies are granted some rights as well. We want them to feel well and enjoy living with us. If they are happy, it makes us happy as well. As I am writing this, all of our furbabies are in the same room with me, relaxing and obviously feeling safe with me. And this is exactly how we want it to be. There are enough hard things to deal with, but I try to make our home a sanctuary for all of us.

Friendly Fill-Ins

I again participate in the Friendly Fill-Ins, hosted by Four-LeggedFurballs and 15andmeowing. So here we go:

1. On New Year’s Eve, I will stay at home with my husband and the furbabies, and we will try to make the fireworks as bearable as possible for Sam, who is afraid of the loud noises.
2. My focus word for 2020 is calmness. Not getting carried so easily would be a big step forward.
3. Hanging up the new cat calendar in the living room is the best thing about starting a new year.
4. My personal goals for 2020 include being the best person I can for my pack and living every day at its fullest.

The cold winter weather means Jackie spends more time inside snuggling with me. Cuddling with cats always has been magic for me. In my opinion cats don’t let their guard down so much if they don’t feel safe and trust the person they choose to be so close with. So our snuggling sessions always make me feel very relaxed, happy and grateful. And I hope Jackie feels loved and protected as well. This special bond between humans and cats is something wonderful.

Friendly Fill-Ins

I again participate in the Friendly Fill-Ins, hosted by Four-LeggedFurballs and 15andmeowing. So here we go:

1. My holiday plans include visiting as many of my loved ones as I can.

2. I can’t wait to see my mum and my dad open his/her their gifts from me us.

3. All I want for Christmas is quality time with my family and the in-laws.

4. Telling those who are important to you that they are loved is the best way to spread holiday cheer.

Meet Pauli! He lives with our friend. His life started very badly, he was found roaming the streets with a broken hip. He was very shy and definitely wasn’t used to living with humans.

My friend found him on the shelter’s homepage and decided she was up to the challenge. She visited Pauli in the shelter several times and spend hours reading to him, so he could slowly get used to her.

Today Pauli lives with our friend, a feline brofur and a doggie sisfur. His hip healed nicely, he is allowed to go outside in the garden, and he likes humans now, especially when they offer him treats 🙂 I think he is happy now, another cat that has found a loving forever home!

Friendly Fill-Ins

I again participate in the Friendly Fill-Ins, hosted by Four-LeggedFurballs and 15andmeowing. So here we go:

1. The crowds on the streets and in the stores stress(es) me this time of year.
2. My favorite holiday film is “Three wishes for Cinderella”, a wonderful snowy fairytale.
3. If you ask me, love makes this season merry and bright.
4. Opening presents on Christmas eve always brings back memories.

Jackie is fifteen years old, but so far her age doesn’t bother her very much. The little signs are there, she stays close to the house when she is outside, she likes to spend the nights inside where it is warm and she has calmed down a bit. But she still is able to jump onto the couch or the bed, and she still sometimes looks like a contortionist, as you can see in the picture :-). Of course we are watching her in case she needs help, but so far she doesn’t. We know this will change someday, but we surely enjoy the good time while it lasts. And I am sure Jackie does as well.

Friendly Fill-Ins

I again participate in the Friendly Fill-Ins, hosted by Four-LeggedFurballs and 15andmeowing. So here we go:

1. I can’t wait to sink my teeth into the self-made cookies we will be baking tomorrow on Thanksgiving (we will see how long they will last).

2. I will pass on mashed potatoes on Thanksgiving.

3. I wish mediterranean cuisine was served at holiday gatherings.

4. I will always be thankful for all the love and support my pack (two- and four-legged, on- and offline) gives me so generously.

It’s time for Feline Friday, hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus!

After nine weeks in the hospital, I was released yesterday. Jackie was thrilled to see me and would stay by my side day and night. This was remarkable, because she behaved differently during my visits, and there were many. During my visits – even when they were overnight – she rarely came to me, and mostly she stayed just for a few minutes. Maybe she sensed that my thoughts often revolved about therapy and what had happened on the ward. But when I came home yesterday I was so happy, and of course I knew it was for good. I repeat myself, but our pets are so clever and they can read us so well! Today she is not as clingy as yesterday, but she still wants to cuddle a lot.

Friendly Fill-Ins

I again participate in the Friendly Fill-Ins, hosted by Four-LeggedFurballs and 15andmeowing. So here we go:

1. I have been longing for my loving home for the last nine weeks during my inpatient stay, that’s for sure.

2. Have you told someone you love him/her today?

3. I always feel sad during this time of year. I am not used to the lack of light outside yet, and the joy Christmas brings seems to be so far away.

4. The world could use more altruism. In order to make this world a better place, we have to care about others as well as ourselves.

It’s time for Feline Friday, hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus!

I am sure our pets are sent to us for a reason. Micky (bottom right) taught me so much about living with cats. She was such a diva, but also full of love.

Sammy (bottom left) was pure love. Rescuing her from a farm made us realize that we will continue to rescue furbabies and give them a loving forever home.

Jackie always reminds us that love means letting go as well. She loves us, but she needs space as well and is fiercely independent.

Each of them made me a better person!

Friendly Fill-Ins

I again participate in the Friendly Fill-Ins, hosted by Four-LeggedFurballs and 15andmeowing. So here we go:

1. October is the perfect month for pumpkin soup.
2. The most recent purchase I made online was a short leash for Sam. He can wear it in the house without falling over it, and we can correct his behavior quickly without speaking or yelling at him.

3. If I turned invisible for a day, I would turn the tables on people wo are mean to animals.

4. Not being able to tolerate injustice has gotten me in trouble in the past.

Feline Friday #66 | Friendly Fill-Ins

It’s time for Feline Friday, hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus!

It’s been two years now since Sammy left us for the Rainbow bridge. I still think a lot of her – she was my heart cat after all – but I mostly remember the good times now, and we had plenty of these. I will never forget how we snuggled on the sofa, or her favorite place, our bed. We had such a strong connection. I am glad she had a long and happy life with us after a rocky start, loved until the end. Let’s find a forever home for all furbabies in need!

Friendly Fill-Ins

I again participate in the Friendly Fill-Ins, hosted by Four-LeggedFurballs and 15andmeowing. So here we go:

1. I think it would be fun to find a cure for all mental illnesses, like depression. It surely would make the world a better place.

2. I have a hankering for potato chips often.

3. Loving my heart cat Sammy is a memory I will never forget.

4. If I were given the choice to be immortal, I would politely decline. I think learning that there is a time for everything is a very important lesson in life.

It’s time for Feline Friday, hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus!

My husband says Jackie is doing well and enjoying the warm fall days. Tomorrow I can see for myself, because I am allowed to go home for the weekend. I can’t wait to cuddle with her! I miss her purr so much!

Friendly Fill-Ins

I again participate in the Friendly Fill-Ins, hosted by Four-LeggedFurballs and 15andmeowing. So here we go:

1. Never have I ever tried recreational drugs like heroine or cocaine. I always was too afraid they could permanently change my brain.
2. I won’t ever dye my hair again. It’s allowed to turn grey after 48 years.

3. I believe I have good knowledge of horses, cats and dogs. I was able to study them for years, and they were patient teachers.

4. Being impatient with myself is my worst enemy. I know it doesn’t help, but it’s hard to let this habit go either!

It’s time for Feline Friday, hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus!

I left home for another inpatient treatment this morning, and I miss Jackie already. We spent the last evenings snuggling on the sofa, and here on the ward there are no furbabies. I hope I can go home soon and be a better human for my pack!

Friendly Fill-Ins

I again participate in the Friendly Fill-Ins, hosted by Four-LeggedFurballs and 15andmeowing. So here we go:

1. Furbabies never fails to improve my bad mood.

2. I feel out of place when I need to dress up.

3. I would like to find a treasure chest filled with love for every being on this earth.
4. If you ask me, sometimes sheer luck keeps the doctor away.

Feline Friday #63 | Friendly Fill-Ins

It’s time for Feline Friday, hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus!

Fall is here, but the days still can be pleasantly warm. Jackie really tries to enjoy every good hour outside. Of course we let her. When it’s cold, there will be enough snuggle time. Jackie values her independence very much, and we are happy when she is happy!

Friendly Fill-Ins

I again participate in the Friendly Fill-Ins, hosted by Four-LeggedFurballs and 15andmeowing. So here we go:

1. I joined the club of the married in 1995.
2. I wish I’d asked my grandmother about her fight against cancer, but this was a big taboo.

3. My parents and my husband had the biggest impact on who I am today.

4. Florence in Italy is the most beautiful place I have ever been.
