The Thankful Thursday Blog Hop is hosted by Brian from Brian’s Home. He encourages us to say what we are thankful for today.
Today I am very thankful for my GP. She really listened to me when I mentioned my heart issues. Of course she mentioned the possibility that the symptoms might be psychosomatic. But she also did a resting ECG, which showed a few extra heart beats. She said it’s probably nothing to worry about, but if the problem persists she will refer me to a cardiologist. I feel so much calmer now. It’s unlikely that is something seriously wrong with my heart. We will check on my thyroid next month, and I will mention it to my psychiatrist at our next meeting. Until then I will just keep on living.
I’m glad she listened and I’m sure you’re right, all is okay. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

I feel so relieved after talking to her. An understanding doctor often is the best medicine.

It’s great when doctors listen. I had a doctor long ago that didn’t listen. It was very frustrating for me. I’m glad all is well with you.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, Viola. ♥

I had my share of these bad doctors myself. Don’t they know that this attitude makes everything so much worse for their patients 😡.

Excellent! Yes, sometimes a few extra beats are not anything to worry over. It could be thyroid medicine needing to go up or down a bit.
Mine is really odd, i take a full thyroid dose four days a week and half the other three days, spacing out the half doses between full dose days. It is the only thing that keeps my level from being too high on one dose or too low on the other!

My doctor mentioned this possibility of alternating between doses as well. Whatever makes the thyroid happy 😀

Just talking to her made me feel so much better, but sadly talking is not what health insurance pays for ☹️.
Have a fabulous weekend!

If even for a little reassurance, that’s really good. And it’s on record now so as she said, if it persists and there are concerns then you can be referred. I hope you can have a restful weekend, work on calming those heartbeats.xx

I will keep an eye on it, but being listened to made everything so much easier. I wish doctors would be more aware of the fact that sometimes words are the best medicine.
Have a great weekend, Caz xx
