Ten Things of Thankful, Week 22/2018

Ten Things of Thankful

So I proudly join the TToT-community again. Let’s see what I can contribute:

  • Decluttering goes on. But hey, I finished decluttering my closet. It’s good to have some closure, even I am nowhere finished.
  • Everybody was so generous were birthday presents are concerned. I was able to replace some more old clothes.
  • Was asked for directions by an older woman. It’s important for me to have an open ear for other people despite my struggles. Even it is just about the way to the next supermarket.
  • My mother had some problems with her smartphone, and we sorted it out on the phone. I am so proud of my parents that they try to get used to something new, and I am happy I could help. My mother was so thankful, but it was no big issue, really.
  • The weather was nice – sunshine and rain in the right mix. I was able to show off my new dresses, and nature got what was needed as well.
  • I like egg liqueur, and I found out it can be added to strawberry shake as well! Yummy.
  • Got cheap blankets for the dogs. They are replacements for now, but it is good to have them.
  • Our “problem dog” made another step forward: He could play with other dogs without being on the leash. That’s a big improvement, at the beginning we had to use a muzzle and a leash when we met dogs he didn’t know.
  • My husband was on a fishing trip with his brother, my parents were in south Germany at the same time. I was able to hold it together without them for a few days, and they had a well deserved break. Win-win, I’d say.
  • Didn’t forget some important things, even my head can be a chaos sometimes. Hope this goes on.

  1. Welcome (again!)
As bloghops go, the TToT is one of my favorites because there is such a wide range of people (and their individual interests) contributing their lists.
Decluttering is one of things that I totally admire and do not manage to do nearly enough.
The weather for us (southern New England, US) is fairly strange this year, wild swings from day to day. Example: high eighties and sunny on Saturday, low 50s and rainy today! Suppose I should be grateful at least for variety! lol
    Have good week.

  2. Good list! Let me jump on the de-cluttering bandwagon, please 😀 While I too have much to de-clutter (still), I recently bought a paper shredder and yippee! I cleared away a very old, growing pile of mail that needed shredding. One small space on the table goes a long way lol
Sounds like you had an awesome birthday. New clothes are wonderful aren’t they? Amazing how a new dress or shirt or slacks can lighten your mood instantly.
Good for you being attentive and helping the older woman. Not everyone has the patience to listen to “old” folks. I’m beginning to realize that so many small things that we take for granted now may one day become a little larger than life for us too.
Yay for dog blankets and playing off the leash!

    1. Once I started this decluttering thing I just can’t stop it. Having new clothes is always fun, and I am glad I can wear those nice dresses in the sun now. I think it’s important to take care of each other. Our dogs are former street dogs, and one of them still has a hard time adapting to his new life, that’s why we enjoy these little steps forward so much!

  3. I remember one time when I was trying to help my mother with an old cell phone. I’d helped her get it set up when I was visiting her, but then she emailed me then said she was having problems with it. Trying to explain things over the phone just didn’t work, and her memory was beginning to slip away, so that didn’t make it any easier.
I need to get back to the decluttering again. Thanks for that reminder.
