Ten Things of Thankful, Week 10/2018

Ten Things of Thankful

So I proudly join the TToT-community. Let’s see what I can contribute:

  • I submitted our tax declaration to the local tax authorities. First, we had to wait for information. Second, I had to wait for a good time when my physical and mental situation would allow me to work on it. But now it is done, and I am so relieved.
  • This morning I talked to my therapist and got many things off my chest. It is so good to have somebody like him in my corner.
  • The worst part of this winter seems to be finally over. Watching the first flowers grow and the trees putting forth buds lifts my mood every year.
  • My husband recovers nicely from his cold. We were not sure at first, if it was “just” a cold or the flu, but luckily it was a cold, and he feels so much better now.
  • My mother has returned from a five week long stay at a convalescent care clinic on Wednesday. She says it helped a lot, and she is feeling so much better now. Music to my ears!
  • One of my favourite TV-Shows, “Let’s Dance” (“Dancing with the Stars” in the US, “Strictly Come Dancing” in the UK) starts today. This will be our favorite way to begin the weekend for the next two months or so. And this weeks episode of The X-Files was great!
  • I started participating in a kind of charity walk. We are a small group and submit every day how many steps we walked through the day, and a small amount for each step is donated to a private animal rescue organisation. I am glad I am able to do this.
  • A friend sent me a funny video this morning to cheer me up. It worked, everybody in the bus wondered why I was laughing!
  • Tried new recipes this week, and my husband liked it. Compliments are always welcome, and I am thankful I could make him happy.
  • And last but not least I am so grateful for the ongoing support I receive from my pack (family, friends and our pets). I couldn’t make this without them.

    1. Sorry, our cat deleted your earlier comment by walking across the keybord… Thanks for your thoughts, and hugs back at you! I hope things get easier for you, too. But sometimes hibernating at a nice comfy place would be nice.

  1. Clearly you are good at identifying the blessings in your life, each list I have just read is full of good things big and small and leaves me feeling happy for you. It is even harder to do these when you struggle with depression, so I am very proud of the effort you’ve put into it! The new link up will be posted tonight my time, so I hope to see you connected there and more people can find you to come and read what you write! 🙂 I love the walk for charity idea, that might be enough to motivate me to get out of my chair and walk more too. You also noted in a post about donating to an animal charity, I do that as well, and I never have very much but if everyone donates something small it can add up to big sums that really help out. It is the intent of your heart that matters! I like to try out new recipes too, and am always happy when I find a good one that Papa Bear likes! ❤

  2. So glad that your husband and your mother are both doing better. When those around us are feeling better, that lifts our spirits too, as do your beautiful spring flowers.

Getting the taxes done and out of the way is definitely a plus.

I enjoyed watching the X-Files when they first came out, but I haven’t been watching much TV lately.

Yeah for having a caring friend who sent you a funny video just to cheer you!

So glad you were able to link up to TTOT this week.
